Lubbock Meals
on Wheels' signature event is
Mardi
Gras. Mardi Gras is an
annual event that features the best
of Lubbock's finest restaurants coupled with various entertaining
activities. Guests are encouraged to dance to jazz music, bid in the
silent auction, and wear the traditional beads and masks while
sampling wonderful food!

Other Fundraisers and Events include:
- A Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is held each year. During the banquet, our fantastic volunteers are recognized for
their hard work and dedication to Meals on Wheels.

Big Wheels Deliver Meals
takes  place every
June. Sonic Drive-Ins donate over
400 meals that are delivered
to our recipients by local
celebrities, who are chauffeured in classic cars. The recipients
really enjoy a visit from a "Big Wheel" and their special lunch.
- The Lubbock Meals on Wheels Tennis
Tournament
is held
each summer. Events include: Men's, Women's, and Mixed doubles and
various other fun activities. Get out your racket and compete for
the title of Meals on Wheels champ!
- Each year, Lubbock Meals on Wheels prepares the best funnel
cakes at the South Plains Fair. This week long event
always enjoys great success. Volunteers to work the booth are
always appreciated! Don't forget to stop by the Meals on Wheels
booth at the Fair!
- Feed A Friend . . . It's as Easy as Pie
is held each November in collaboration with United Supermarkets
and Mrs. Smith's. The week long event is kicked off with a pie
eating contest featuring local celebrities. Meals on Wheels'
supporters are encouraged to donate at least
$5 to receive a coupon for a
free Mrs. Smith's Pie.

Christmas Ornament Sales -
Purchase a  beautiful pewter ornament for
$10 plus tax. The ornaments are available in three
styles: a peace angel, a stylish bow adorned with Holly leaves,
and a Christmas tree. All ornaments bear the Meals on Wheels logo
and name, so whether you put the ornament on your own tree or give
it as a gift, whoever sees it will know you support a worthwhile
organization. Ornaments are available now at the Lubbock Meals on
Wheels’ office,

- Christmas Tribute Program - When
you give a minimum $5 gift in honor of a friend, family member, or business
acquaintance, a lovely Christmas card acknowledgment will be
promptly sent. Please send or bring your Christmas card list
including names and addresses to Lubbock Meals on Wheels by
December 17.
